Irish busy weekend
Last week the Irish Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan, repeat all and sundry that Ireland has no liquidity problems and up to June 2011 will not need new financing. He was seconded by Prime Minister Cowen, and the government spin-doctors tried to convince the media that it was the other eurozone countries, they want to force Ireland to save.
On Thursday, the Irish government suddenly changed his mind. What happened on Thursday?
What new information meant that in one day all the state's financial strategy had to be changed?
